Prop Firm Reset Rules & Fees Explained (2026)

Fail an evaluation and you've got two options: reset it or rebuy it. The difference affects your cost, so it's worth understanding before you pick a firm — especially while you're still learning and likely to fail a few.

Reset vs rebuy

A reset wipes your current evaluation back to its starting balance for a fee, usually cheaper than buying a brand-new account. A rebuy means simply purchasing a fresh evaluation. On monthly-subscription firms the distinction often blurs — you may just continue into the next billing cycle or start a new account rather than paying a separate reset fee.

Reset fees by firm

Why it matters while you're learning

If you expect to fail a few evaluations before you pass — which is normal — cheap resets meaningfully lower your total cost of getting funded. A firm with an $80 reset is kinder to a learning curve than one where every failure means a full-price rebuy. Factor it in alongside the entry price, not instead of it.

Reset fees change often and are easy to get wrong — confirm the current fee on the firm's own checkout, and compare entry prices on the comparison page.

Reset rules and fees are verified against the firms' official sites (Oct 2026) but change often. Confirm on each firm's own site before buying. Nothing here is financial advice.
